TEAM INTERSTATE Begins 20th Season With JGR

Nineteen years ago, Interstate Batteries No.18, driven by Dale Jarrett, passed Dale Ernhardt and won the Super Bowl of NASCAR racing, the Daytona 500. It was an improbable victory for the fledgling race team in only its second Daytona 500.

Daytona 500 Twin 150 Qualifying Races Today

Flash forward to this Sunday when Joe Gibbs Racing will field not one, but three, teams in the Daytona 500. TEAM INTERSTATE will have three drivers competing Thursday afternoon in the Gatorade Twin 150 races for all spots, except the front row which was set during qualifying last weekend.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the No.88 claimed the pole (although he will start from the last position after crashing in practice) and Jeff Gordon in the No.24 won the outside pole. TEAM INTERSTATE Kyle Busch in the No.18 M&M’s/Interstate Batteries Toyota, Denny Hamlin in the No.11 FedEx Camry and Joey Logano in the No.20 Home Depot Toyota will all race for Daytona 500 starting positions in the second 150 mile race.
