July 15, 2008 // Franchising.com // - (DALLAS) – On the heels of a record-setting month of franchisee signings, Interstate Batteries Franchise and Development, the franchisor of Interstate All Battery Center (IABC), announces the signing of its 100th retail location.

IABC franchisee Dan Spata will open the store in Skokie, Ill. in late 2008 and will offer one-stop shopping for more than 13,000 types of batteries and power solutions for everything from laptops and cameras to boats and hearing aids. Spata will extend IABC’s “Have it - Find it- Build it” promise to consumers, ensuring that if IABC does not have the battery solution a customer needs, the company will find or build it.

“Interstate All Battery Center was the first nationally established brand to enter the fragmented battery market and achieving this milestone confirms a growing consumer demand for all kinds of batteries,” said Interstate Batteries Franchise and Development Director Justin Darland. “With record sales and more store locations on the map weekly, we’re well on our way to accomplish our goal of 300 stores by 2012.”

Recognized by Franchise Business Review in its annual Top 50 list of leading franchisor brands and experiencing record sales volumes, IABC is highly positioned to lead the retail battery category, which analysts project will reach $50 billion by 2010. The company’s revenue has continued to climb for four straight years and 2008 revenue is up seven percent from last year. Specifically, records show sales of everyday household batteries and custom-assembled batteries (designed to build less common power solutions for older or more select gadgets and devices) have increased in 2008.
