Franchise Advertising Textbook Features Interstate All Battery Centers

We didn’t write the book on franchise advertising, but we certainly appeared in one. Interstate Batteries All Battery Centers landed in a textbook tutorial on best practices in small business marketing and franchisee advertising.

In “Integrated Advertising, Promotion, and Marketing Communications,” authors Kenneth Clow and Donald Baack had the following to say about Interstate Batteries:

Interstate Batteries employed its internal marketing department to launch a geo-targeted online media plan for all company Battery Centers that are located in cities throughout the United States. The objectives of the campaign were to:
• Increase awareness of all Interstate All Battery Centers
• Drive traffic to all Interstate All Battery Centers
• Create awareness of key brand messages

Interstate Batteries used online display advertising to create awareness and provide information about the location of its stores. The campaign was geo-targeted by each store’s market zip codes. Consumers who clicked on the ads were taken to a geo-specific landing page that provided information about the closest All Battery Center.

The campaign targeted the 25 to 54 age group with the selected zip codes surrounding each of the battery stores.

Online metrics to measure the success of the campaign were determined prior to the launch. Metrics included click-through, coupon redemption, changes in sales, and the number of transactions at the retail stores. Additional online metrics included the number individuals who enlarged the map, submitted information by e-mail, and printed the coupon.

The textbook, now in its 5th edition, is being used at 350+ colleges across the U.S., including the University of Texas, the University of North Texas, and Texas Southern. It is also being translated into five languages.

As a franchisee, are industry recognitions of the brand (such as this one) important to you?

Is there any possibility for “silent partnership” participation? I am interested in exploring investment of 100k to 250k without overseeing management role. Also, would like to seek participation in franchise with one or both of my sons
in active roles.
