Building the Brand Locally is Rewarding

As a small business operator, creating awareness for your brand can be challenging. However, with proper planning, building a small business brand can be enjoyable – and even rewarding.

Such is the case for Tom Honnald and his team. Honnald owns an Interstate All Battery Center franchise in Boise. Each year, the area hosts the Boise Roadster Show, Idaho’s largest motorsports event, which attracts visitors throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Honnald chose to participate this year for the first time as a commercial vendor. He and his team greeted thousands of visitors from their booth and handed out coupons for discounts at his store. Through this personal touch and face-to-face conversations, he learned that most have heard of the Interstate Batteries brand, but few knew that the All Battery Centers offer a huge variety of batteries and power accessories.

Not only did Honnald gain insight into consumer awareness, he also received the award for ‘Outstanding Commercial Vendor Display’ from the show. The award resulted in increased recognition of the brand and his store.

Participation in events such as this is an excellent way to build your small business brand. As a small business operator, do you find participation in events rewarding?
